The Medical Scribe is responsible for documenting patient encounters, vitals, and medical histories within the EMR as directed by the provider. Additional duties include managing prescriptions, faxing orders, and assisting physicians during medical procedures.
Candidates must have a background in healthcare with medical terminology and the ability to type 65 wpm accurately. A Certified Medical Scribe credential or at least one year of experience is desired, along with full Covid vaccination.

The focus of this position is a Medical Scribe. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Computer skills are required with accuracy and attention to detail. We are 100% electronic Documenting Vitals, procedures, history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications, and allergies within the EMR as directed by provider including verifying/validating within the EMR Obtaining medical records prior to or during the visits Scribes document communication dictated by provider, patient care related activities, physician to physician communication, and family communication, orders, Taking detailed Medical History within the EMR, updating follow-up section as directed by provider, and other sections as directed by provider Preparing "and sending" prescriptions as directed by physician Faxing out orders (Imaging, procedures, etc.) and documenting where and date faxed in orders in the EMR by end of day Inform provider(s) when diagnostic studies are completed, prepare for review, and attach and document in EMR. Familiar with MIPS and ensuring that all documentation related to MIPS is complete with each progress note including the billing aspect Assisting the physician in procedures and in the capacity of a medical scribe as needed Preparing prescriptions as directed by the physician Laboratory processing for both internal and external labs as directed by physician with documentation entered in the EMR for each and every lab with status including canceling duplicate older labs not completed Complete all progress notes and billing items as directed by physician Complete progress notes by end of each day so billing can be completed Respond to requests for clarification and document within EMR of all activities Respond to all emails daily and make sure if patient related it is copied into EMR If provider dictates letters or notes, attach in EMR and note if provided to patient Maintain a clean office and organized files Providing excellent patient care Desired skills and qualities: Positive attitude with enthusiasm and energy, someone who smiles Presentable, professional, and polished appearance and demeanor Friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking Demonstrates ambition and passion with quest for learning Attention to detail a must Must be flexible including working longer hours if needed Applicant must have accurate typing skills and basic knowledge of the use of a Windows based computer system including Microsoft Office and email programs Must be able to work well with others Able to multitask Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload within tight deadlines. Experience in electronic medical records a plus Must have reliable transportation Needs little direction Must have excellent communications skills Able to adapt to changes in procedures or office assignments Follows instructions and takes feedback well Anticipates workflow Knowledge of insurances: Medicare, Medicaid, private insurances Bilingual a plus but not required Experience and/or knowledge of EClinicalWorks a plus Required experience:
Must have Ability to type 65 wpm accurately Background in Healthcare with Medical Terminology Certified Medical Scribe or at least 1 year of experience desired Must be fully vaccinated for Covid
