The RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute illness, injury, or trauma in a fast-paced emergency department. Key duties include performing rapid assessments, administering emergency treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity Provide emergency nursing care including medication administration, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record Educate patient and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff Work with other interdisciplinary teams
Current NYS nursing licensure, limited permit or eligible. BLS Required ACLS or acute care experience preferred Strong clinical thinking and communication skills
Appreciable physical effort required; lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients of various size, capabilities and abilities. Some lifting, reaching, and stooping. Required to be on feet much of the time.
