Social Work Services at the Mount Sinai Hospital
The social worker in this position will be responsible for providing comprehensive and continuous social work services to children with renal disease and to their family members in collaboration with the current part-time pediatric renal social worker. Patients are followed in ambulatory care settings and in various in-patient pediatric settings, including the PICU and the dialysis unit. The social worker assists families with the impact of the diagnosis of a renal disorder or end stage renal disease and its implications throughout the course of the illness and through varied treatments including dialysis and transplantation.
