The Medical Assistant performs a blend of clerical duties and direct patient care, including scheduling and updating electronic medical records. Clinical tasks involve rooming patients, recording vital signs, and assisting providers during examinations.
Candidates must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a High School Diploma or GED. BLS certification and certification from recognized bodies like AAMA, AMT, or NHA are required.
Education Requirements Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role. High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program Experience Relevant Experience Certification and Licensure BLS Certification Current Medical Assistant Certification awarded through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Association of Healthcare Professionals (NAHP) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Medical Assistant Certification other than those listed requires THMG Leadership Approval.
