City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.
The successful candidate: Must be able to work 1 shift per week, M-F, 8:00a-4:30p; possibility of increasing to 2-3 days a week The Infusion nurse initiates, monitors, and completes intravenous/intramuscular therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, pre-meds and hydration.
Ability to care for patients with IV lines, central lines and ports.
Administer and monitor blood products safely.
Demonstrates competence in chemotherapy administration through ONS.
Ability to assess and recognize normal/abnormal responses to treatments and institute appropriate interventions.
Demonstrates skills to assess and intervene in life-threatening situations.
Administer medications via all routes, using the 6 rights, medication bar scanner and monitoring patient for side effects.
Ability to collect blood specimens and blood cultures.
Qualifications Your qualifications should include: 1 year experience in chemo infusion Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Card within 30 days of hire and renewal every two years.
