The DSP supports individuals in achieving personal goals and integrating into their community through assistance with daily living skills and health management. Responsibilities include monitoring safety, facilitating social activities, and implementing clinical care plans.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid State of Michigan driver's license. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and the capacity to become CPR/First Aid certified are required.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
