The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and interpreting veterinary orders to ensure safety and accuracy while dispensing medications to pets. They must verify the work of support personnel and maintain compliance with USP 795 and USP 800 standards.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a current Arizona pharmacist license in good standing. Experience in veterinary compounding and PCAB accreditation is preferred.
Review and interpret vets orders for appropriateness to ensure that overdoses or under-doses have not been prescribed and that interactions, incompatibilities or toxic compounds will not result from combination of medications. Will dispense prescriptions to pets in accordance with policy and in conformance with regulations and laws dealing with the class of prescription; counsels patients (pet owners) about their medications and maintains an accurate, up to date profile. Verify the work performed by support personnel, which includes compounding, repackaging, and final quality assurance and PV2 Pharmacist will be expected to work in spaces compliant with both USP 795 and USP 800 The ability to focus on tasks and quickly complete them is important to being efficient in this role Familiarity with pharmaceutical calculations is preferred Requirements: Veterinary Compounding experience preferred. Experience with PCAB accreditation preferred. Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a current Arizona pharmacist license in good standing.
