The Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications and maintaining detailed records in an outpatient opioid treatment setting. They provide expertise on safe medication use, counsel patients on side effects, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
A Doctorate degree in pharmacy and a current Georgia Pharmacist License are required. Candidates should have knowledge of MAT, regulatory compliance (DEA, HIPAA), and a clean history regarding substance misuse for the past three years.
Your Education, Skills and Qualifications: Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university required Prefer previous experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment. No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment. Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including the safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care. Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Understanding of clinical best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
