Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to help patients recover and maintain mobility. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and educating families on patient deficits.

How you will contribute

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.

Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.

Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

Assists with patient discharge planning.

Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs

  • Associate’s degree Required, Graduate of a Program in Discipline
  • Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

Requires an Associate's degree from a discipline program and a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Kentucky. Candidates must also hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
