Responsibilities: Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures. Performs routine and complex studies and assists physician in a variety of imaging procedures. Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations. Evaluates, synthesizes, and communicates diagnostic information to the attending physician or radiologist. Communicates effectively with the patient and health care team and provide education regarding the procedure and equipment to ensure patient understanding.
Attributes: Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under direct supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
