The nurse is responsible for administering chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IVs while coordinating care for a group of oncology patients. They must manage patient care tasks, supervise staff, and provide comprehensive education to patients regarding their treatment.
Requires a current WV RN license, CPR certification, and at least two years of position-related experience in oncology. An associate degree is required, while a bachelor's degree and OCN specialty certification are preferred.
The Adult Infusion Oncology Nurse is a licensed registered nurse who demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in the subspecialty of oncology nursing, and is accountable for using the nursing process, delegating patient care tasks, supervision of other patient care staff, coordinating the care for a group of patients, and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated. Administers chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IV, excellent IV skills needed, ability to draw labs from Mediport, able to use computer programs, change PIC line dressings, give injections (IM, SQ), maintain excellent communication skills, able to educate patients’ on chemo on all levels of patient need and have flexible hours.
The shift will be determined by each hiring manager. The pay rate will be determined in accordance with the labor agreement.
