The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for preparing anesthesia machines, stocking supplies, and ensuring rapid turnover of cases. They also assist in trauma situations and maintain equipment according to the Spaulding classification system.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Previous medical experience is preferred along with basic computer proficiency.
This position provides assistance to the anesthesia department in preparing anesthesia machines for use, stocking all areas that require anesthesia services, ordering supplies, and maintaining stocks. They are responsible for the rapid turnover of cases that require anesthesia services and are held to the Spaulding classification system for cleaning of machines, carts, and medical devices or equipment. Assists in trauma situations when needed and performs under the direction of the anesthesia provider and is subject to verification in accordance with state and federal law.
