The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical and clerical duties to prepare patients for visits and maintain smooth patient flow. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, managing medical records in EHR, and assisting providers with examinations and procedures.
Candidates must have completed an accredited medical assistant program with current CMA certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Experience with electronic health records, preferably Next Gen, is required.

The SBHC Certified Medical Assistant works as part of the medical team performing those clinical and clerical duties necessary to prepare patients for a visit. Also prepares medical charts and gathers patient information. The CMA should maintain smooth patient flow throughout the Health Center.
