The Personal Care Aide is responsible for observing patients and serving as a sitter during assigned shifts. They provide basic personal care services, including toileting assistance and reporting safety hazards.
Candidates must complete all mandated state, federal, and accreditation training programs. Proficiency is attained through two weeks to one month of required on-the-job training.
Overview The Personal Care Assistant is primarily responsible for observing patients and providing assistance in personal care.
Observes assigned patient(s); serves in the capacity of a sitter for assigned patient(s) during specific shift. Assists with basic personal care services as appropriate and as assigned. Assists assigned patient(s) in toileting. Observes for and reports safety hazards, and prepares incident reports. Participates in team conferences, in-service education programs, and staff meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Successful completion of all State, Federal, ARH, or accreditation mandated training programs as they become available. Two (2) weeks to one (1) month on-the-job training is required to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
