Essential
Functions: Provides skilled nursing care to patients as ordered by the physician and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Implements orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with nursing care plan as written by the RN. Provides information to the Registered Nurse to assist in the development of an individualized plan of care for each patient. Participates in evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seeks guidance in redirection when necessary. Reports to supervisor on patient care rendered, problems concerning patients’ needs, and resolution to those needs. Helps identify patient problems and potential risks and contributes to the development of interventions. Assists in identification of patient’s learning needs and reinforces self-care and other techniques. Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using the hospital’s established system. May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards. Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule. Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
