The Peer Recovery Coach facilitates conversations to help members create and meet recovery goals while promoting a recovery-centered culture. They also respond to critical mental health or addiction emergencies using high-level engagement and de-escalation skills.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, peer certification, and at least one year of experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges. Lived experience as a beneficiary of the public behavioral health system and a valid driver's license are required.

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
Expected starting wage range is $21.00 - $22.52. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Telecare’s community program in Central Orange County, Homeless General Population will focus on addressing the complex housing needs of up to 150 members, many of whom have long histories of homelessness and serious mental illness. The program will emphasize enhanced engagement and outreach efforts along with intensive case management, Vocational/Educational/Employment support and robust housing strategy services.
