Provide comprehensive clinical care for pediatric cardiac surgery and cardiology patients across ambulatory, inpatient, and catheterization lab settings. Responsibilities include diagnosing illnesses, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Must be a graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program with at least one year of experience in a pediatric or family-focused clinical area. Required credentials include an active Washington state PA license, DEA registration, and BLS certification.
The Pediatric Cardiac Services PA provides direct patient care and assumes primary responsibility for clinical management across ambulatory, cardiac catheterization lab, and inpatient settings. This includes providing clinical services including diagnosis of illness, development and management of treatment plans, and prescription of medication. APPs may see patients independently or as part of the health care team. This role also requires in-depth conceptual and working knowledge acquired through deep experience in a particular job discipline. It may also require familiarity in related disciplines and specialties. This APP may lead projects of manageable risk or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives and commonly executes a wide range of complex and difficult tasks, requiring minimal guidance or supervision. Pediatric Cardiac Services APPs will apply new perspectives to existing solutions and serve as a key resource for colleagues. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive clinical care to cardiac surgery and cardiology patients in ambulatory clinics, the cardiac cath lab, and inpatient units. Obtain detailed patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and tests. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans. Prescribe medications in accordance with institutional and state guidelines. Participate in case management and ensure seamless transitions of care. Collaborate closely with attending physicians, specialists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Contribute to departmental and organizational quality improvement and performance initiatives. Support education and research efforts involving patients, families, and the healthcare team. Requirements Graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program. One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area. Pay and Benefit Expectations We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $165,600.00 - $173,400.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
