Assessment & Exam: Confirms patient information and verifies the procedure prescribed.
Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of procedure.
Reviews the patient’s chart and the physician’s request to determine optimal scanning parameters.
Explains process to patient and instructs and assists patient in assuming the physical position for procedure.
Maintains aseptic techniques, as well as complying with isolation techniques when performing a procedure.
Transfer images\data to radiologist/cardiologist workstations and facility archive.

Quality Control: Ensures that services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines.
Reports on equipment problems and unsafe conditions to the manager to achieve problem resolution.
Ensure that protocol and procedure manuals include recommended criteria and are reviewed and revised on a regular basis.
