Ensures the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications for inpatient and outpatient care areas. Reviews physician orders, provides drug information to medical staff, and supervises pharmacy technicians and interns.
Must be a Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Mississippi. Preference is given to candidates with knowledge of unit-dose distribution, IV admixture systems, and drug literature evaluation.
Under general supervision, ensures prompt, safe, and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications to both inpatient and outpatient care areas. Reviews and verifies physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy. Provides drug information to medical staff, nursing, and patients. Supervises pharmacy technicians, interns, externs, and pharmacy assistants in accordance with hospital policy.
Works primarily in a well‑lit, climate‑controlled pharmacy environment. Position requires sustained mental focus, ability to respond quickly under pressure, and exposure to moderate noise levels. Typical work distribution includes approximately 60% sitting and 40% standing or walking.
