Job Description

You'll use your clinical nursing experience to provide direct patient care across outpatient primary care and specialty clinics serving Veterans. Working alongside physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, you'll deliver skilled nursing care, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, educate patients and families, and help ensure safe, coordinated care throughout the clinic visit.

Schedule

Full-Time | 8–10-Hour Shifts Key Responsibilities Provide skilled nursing care in primary care and specialty outpatient clinics, with support in acute care medical/surgical and outpatient laboratory areas as needed. Administer oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications in accordance with approved policies, monitor patient responses, and promptly communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team. Monitor vital signs, document patient histories and clinical observations, maintain accurate medical records, and collaborate in developing and implementing patient care plans. Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and medications while supporting positive patient experiences through compassionate communication. Assist with wound care, minor procedures, activities of daily living when needed, emergency response, and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment that supports quality patient care. Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary team members while participating in ongoing professional development and organizational quality and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

Requirements

Graduate of a state-approved practical/vocational nursing program with successful completion of the NCLEX-PN. Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from any U.S. state, territory, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Minimum two (2) years of current primary care experience, including work performed within the last six months. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder required; must be able to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust Clearance and successfully complete a South Carolina criminal background check. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including prolonged sitting and standing and lifting up to 15 pounds.
