$153 - $200 / HOUR
Provide high-quality first assist support for general surgery cases, including tissue handling and suturing. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe intraoperative management and complete accurate clinical documentation.
Requires a Medical Degree (MD or DO), a current Massachusetts medical license, DEA registration, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Proficiency in first assist techniques for general surgery is essential.
Prior experience as a first assist in a community hospital or high-volume surgical setting. Experience with laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical workflows. Familiarity with Epic or similar EMR systems. Work Environment & Expectations Per diem scheduling based on departmental needs, including potential early morning starts, evening cases, or weekend coverage. Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment with multiple surgical teams. Commitment to South Shore Hospital’s mission of delivering high-quality, community-focused surgical care.
