- Job Summary The Nursing Assistant assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned areas.
- Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing personal care, emotional support, and performing basic clinical tasks under the supervision of registered nursing personnel.
- Ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients while maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.
- Essential Functions Assists patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measures and records vital signs, weight, height, and intake and output measurements.
- Observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reports abnormalities to nursing staff.
- Prepares patient rooms for admission, discharge, and transfers; maintains cleanliness and order.
- Transports patients to and from various departments as needed.
- Assists nursing staff with routine clinical tasks, including application of heat/cold packs and enema administration.
- Performs post-mortem care and assists in transporting bodies to the morgue as required.
- Responds promptly to patient call lights and assists in meeting patient needs.

Education High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course preferred. Licenses/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Experience Six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care facility preferred.
