- What you bring to SBHG: · Valid California Driver’s License · Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years of age · Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another related mental health field · Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an Associate - ACSW, APCC, AMFT · Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) · First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.
- How you will make a difference: The Mental Health Specialist assesses clients at start of treatment (reviews as needed), develops and maintains treatment plans, and conducts family collateral and discharge planning.
- Duties include discussing goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishing a contract with the consumer.
- Interviewing consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis; respond to potential suicide or other emergency events.
- Visit clients, individually or as part of a team, in a variety of living situations, to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families, observe progress, provide counseling, gather data, and report significant changes in the client's condition to designated professional staff.
- Division/Program Overview: The TAY Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) facility is a short-term, voluntary residential program for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) aged 18-25 experiencing a psychiatric crisis.
- It offers 24/7 services, including therapeutic and mental health care, substance use rehabilitation, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, medication evaluation and support, daily exercise, health and wellness education, and crisis intervention, all aimed at helping residents stabilize, recover, and transition back into the community.
