Pain Medicine APP (NP/PA)

• Inova is looking for a dedicated Pain Medicine APP to join the team.
• This role will be Full Time, M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm primarily at our Loudoun Pain Clinic with possible travel to Fairfax East and Fair Oaks Pain Clinics when needed.

• Pain Medicine APP Job Responsibilities Seeing a mix of new patients and establish patients to collaborate and support 1 physician at the Loudoun pain clinic as well as supporting additional physicians at other locations in Fairfax and Fair Oaks as needed. Obtain comprehensive medical and pain histories Performed focused physical exams (spinal, motor and musculoskeletal) Management and assessment of Acute and Chronic (mostly) pain management Recommend pharmacology options such as non-opioid management Patient education, referrals to Neurosurgery, Behavioral Health, Rehab/PT, etc. when appropriate Procedures interventions if interested: Trigger point and joint injections Assessing behavior comorbidities and referring to pain psychologist on staff when appropriate Common conditions managed:
• Chronic low back pain
• Neck pain
• Radiculopathy
• Spinal stenosis
• Degenerative disc disease
• Neuropathic pain
• Post surgical pain

Additional Requirements Work schedule

• Monday -
• Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Master's degree required.

Experience

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred. Prior experience in Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Primary Care, or a related specialty is preferred. Experience evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior APP experience in Neurosciences, Pain Medicine, Spine or Psychiatry.
