The Medical Assistant performs a blend of clerical duties, such as scheduling and EMR updates, and clinical tasks, including rooming patients and taking vitals. They support providers by preparing exam rooms and assisting during patient examinations to facilitate efficient office flow.
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED, or be a graduate of a Medical Assistant program. A current BLS certification and a valid Medical Assistant certification from an approved body (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NCCT) are required.
Education Requirements Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role. High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program Experience Relevant Experience Certification and Licensure BLS Certification Current Medical Assistant Certification awarded through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Association of Healthcare Professionals (NAHP) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Medical Assistant Certification other than those listed requires THMG Leadership Approval.
