The LPN provides direct patient care, including medication administration and monitoring patient conditions under the supervision of the Charge RN. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and documenting all care activities accurately.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program with a current, unrestricted Mississippi LPN license and CPR certification. One year of nursing experience in behavioral health or acute care is preferred.
Administer medications accurately and safely according to physician orders. Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the treatment team. Document medications, treatments, and patient care activities accurately and timely. Assist with patient assessments, admissions, transfers, and discharges. Perform chart reviews and ensure documentation compliance. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and care plans. Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care meetings. Follow infection prevention, safety, and employee health guidelines. Serve as a patient advocate and promote patient dignity and respect. Attend required training, staff meetings, and educational programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program. Current, unrestricted Mississippi LPN License. Current CPR Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Preferred One (1) year of nursing experience. Behavioral health, psychiatric, long-term care, medical-surgical, or acute care experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Basic computer and electronic medical record proficiency. Understanding of medical and behavioral health conditions. Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to assist with patient care activities and emergency situations. Exposure to healthcare environments that may include bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and cleaning agents.
