Provide clinical services for acute episodic conditions, including diagnosing and treating minor injuries and infections. Perform essential patient care duties such as ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and referring patients to emergency care when necessary.
Requires a Bachelor's degree for PAs or a Master's degree for NPs, along with national certification and active state licensure. Candidates must have 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience, including at least 18 months in an applicable practice setting.
Required Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills Strong communication and customer service skills Essential Functions Examining and treating patients Taking patients’ medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow-up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care All other duties as assigned Note: this job description is not inclusive of all the duties of the position.
