Responsibilities

• The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist and within all regulatory rules governing pharmaceutical services, provides for complete pharmaceutical services to the facility.
• This position will specialize in Prior Authorizations and will work closely with pharmacies, physicians, insurance companies and patients to obtain approvals for prescriptions requiring prior authorization.
• Other duties include assisting with other pharmacy tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• High School graduate, or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacy technician registration Current Tennessee Driver’s License Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred. A working knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, and state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. Previous experience with Omnicell preferred. Previous experience with Prior Authorizations is preferred.
