Sterilize Equipment- Keeping the surgery area clean and tidy is a key aspect of an oral surgery assistant’s role, so it’s important that all equipment is sterilized before and after use and that all preparation areas are thoroughly cleaned to meet health and safety regulations Provide Post-Operation Advice- After surgery, oral surgery assistants provide patients with follow-up instructions and postoperative care tips Ability to take impressions and pour up plaster diagnostics models What You’ll Need to Succeed Dental Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training. 3-5 years of experience preferred Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific). Current CPR certification. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. A commitment to delivering exceptional service and patient education.
