Provide and coordinate quality patient-centered care for acute and chronic wounds in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. Assist physicians with debridement and therapeutic dressings while supervising licensed and unlicensed staff.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), an active California RN license, and at least one year of experience. BLS certification is required, while WOCNCB or WON certifications are preferred.
HBO/Wound Care (Per diem, Day Shift)
The Clinical Nurse B- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Wound Care Clinic (HBO/Wound Care) utilizes discretion and independent judgment to provide, coordinate and document direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic. Demonstrates expertise in caring for patients with various types of simple to complex acute and chronic wounds and multiple health comorbidities. Assists the physician and nurse practitioners with wound debridement, therapeutic dressings, compression therapy, treatment of wound, skin and bone infection. Performs the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) with minimal supervision in accordance with LLUMC-Murrieta's established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory). Embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in wound care and hyperbaric oxygenation treatment. Exhibits interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications and competencies as defined in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Minimum of one year experience required. CN-B's are eligible to be promoted into the CN-C classification when criteria outlined in the Clinical Nurse Ladder handbook and job specifications outlined in CN-C job description are met.
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. Certification from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) preferred. Wound, Ostomy Nurse (WON) specialty certificate preferred.
