The CNA provides personal care and support services to hospice patients to enhance comfort and maintain a safe environment. They are also responsible for observing patient conditions and accurately documenting these observations for the nursing team.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, high school graduates, and registered State Nurse Aides with a CNA training program completion. One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred.
Schedule: Weekdays, 7:00am-7:00pm, rotating weekends and holidays
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of the hospice care team who works under the supervisor of a Registered Nurse (RN) within Bluegrass Care Navigators’ Hospice Inpatient Units. This role provides personal care and support services to meet the patient’s daily needs, enhance comfort, and maintain a safe environment. The CNA is also responsible for observing the patient’s condition and accurately reporting and documenting observations and the services provided. Position Qualifications: · At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent. · Currently registered as a State Nurse Aide with the Kentucky Board of Nursing. · Completion of a recognized Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program. · One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting, preferred. · Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, and accurately document care provided. · Self-directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. · Demonstrates empathy for individuals who are ill, frail, or impaired, and understands the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill.
