The PRN Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and accurate review and dispensing of medications for behavioral health and disability populations. Key duties include evaluating physician orders for appropriateness and maintaining detailed patient medical histories.
A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and a valid Maryland Board of Pharmacy license are required. Preference is given to candidates with two years of experience, particularly in long-term care pharmacy.

We are seeking a PRN Pharmacist to provide as-needed coverage and support pharmacy operations at our Annapolis, MD location based on business needs. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and compliant review and dispensing of medications while maintaining high standards of patient care. The PRN Pharmacist will evaluate medication orders, monitor for potential interactions, support decision-making, and collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position is ideal for a flexible, detail-oriented pharmacist who is comfortable stepping into different workflows and providing reliable support in a dynamic environment.
Compensation for this role ranges from $50.00 to $60.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Main Responsibilities Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions Maintains patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication Ensures that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring certain high-risk conditions are ordered, evaluated and discussed with appropriate members of the healthcare team Obtains, as necessary, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and policy Informs the Pharmacist in Charge of medication related errors Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required Knowledge of principals related to pharmaceutical preparation and practices Licensed Pharmacist listed by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
Two years' experience as a pharmacist, long-term care pharmacy preferred Strong leadership skills Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, oral communication A combination of comprehensive therapeutic knowledge, problem-solving skills, and judgment is necessary Ability to work cooperatively with others; comprehension of the current standards of pharmacy practice; and understanding of the challenges of professional pharmacy practice Ability to master computer/software applications necessary for completing job tasks as required Ability to manage multiple employees and workloads at once and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Schedule Your work schedule will be on an as-needed (PRN) basis and will vary based on business needs, operational demands, and site requirements. Hours are not guaranteed, and you will be scheduled to work based on availability and coverage needs. Workdays and hours may fluctuate and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
