Responsibilities
Job Summary The PHYSICIAN provides direct patient care in accordance with evidence-based treatment guidelines. They will deliver care in a team-centered approach; interact with patients and families to keep them informed and engaged in the decisions and direction of health care; provide counseling education and resource information on wellness, prevention of illness and health maintenance; and refer patients as appropriate for specialty care services and educational training for their conditions. Essential Functions Spends scheduled time in the clinic providing compassionate patient care. Completes documentation of patient encounters as per guidelines. Returns patient calls in a timely manner. Reviews patient medical records, tests and study results to make recommendations for treatment options, including appropriateness of second opinions for patient requesting such service. Provides state of the art care utilizing latest medical service. Uses scientific evidence to develop treatment plans. Follows evidence based treatment guidelines. Completes medical records in a timely fashion. Develops care protocols necessary to allow basic assessment of health and initiation of appropriate care. Acts as a resource for worker’s compensation, disability management, risk management and other groups to address specific concerns, as related to prevention or treatment of injuries and illness, including the provision of investigative support and problem resolution. Acts as a resource to individuals involved in the administration of the HH Employee Assistance Program. Participates in development referral procedures and/or contracts with physicians and other healthcare providers for services beyond the scope of HonorHealth’s program. Communicates with primary and referring physicians. Demonstrates behaviors that reflect a commitment to continuous professional development and are consistent with ethics. Demonstrates an understanding and sensitivity to diversity. Respects confidentiality including HIPPA regulations. Adheres to all institutional and regulatory guidelines, participate in and provide appropriate training of staff, and participates in activities and initiatives designed to provide highest quality patient care.
