Must be registered or eligible to register as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee in Maryland. A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
Position Overview Redefining the Future Network, Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) to join our growing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. This position is ideal for individuals pursuing certification as a Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) or higher credential in Maryland.
The ADT will provide supervised support services to individuals with substance use disorders while gaining hands-on clinical experience in assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities Provide direct services to clients with substance use disorders under approved supervision Assist with screening, intake assessments, and biopsychosocial evaluations Support the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans Facilitate or co-facilitate individual and group counseling sessions Deliver psychoeducation related to substance use, relapse prevention, and coping strategies Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with COMAR and Medicaid standards Participate in weekly clinical supervision and staff meetings Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care Support discharge planning and referrals to community resources Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization
Registered or eligible to register as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) in the state of Maryland Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field (preferred) Strong interest in pursuing SUD certification (CSC-AD, CAC-AD, etc.) Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral health principles (preferred) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Experience working with individuals with substance use or co-occurring disorders Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT, or DBT approaches Experience with electronic health records (e.g., TheraNest) Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
