Clinic Nurse (RN) Full-Time

NeoPath Health, Inc., a Minnesota based administrator of employer based medical services, is in search of a full-time clinic nurse to work at the Prairie Island Health Center in Welch, MN.

Position Summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assisting practitioners and clinical team members with the management and treatment of patients in a primary care and/or occupational health care setting. The Clinic Nurse will perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a practitioner. They will be responsible for keeping the medical office or facility running smoothly. The Clinic Nurse assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, performing basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs and point of care testing. This position requires a high degree of interpersonal, organizational, and clinical skills. • Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Welcomes patients and visitors by warmly greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone, and makes every effort to meet their needs.
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit, treatment, and all pertinent health information.
• Supports patient care delivery by assisting health care practitioners during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; dispensing medication as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures and other duties as assigned.
• Coordinates and maintains organized patient flow.
• Prepares and supports patients and assists practitioners with procedures.
• Performs basic lab and testing procedures according to standards.
• Administers injections including immunizations as ordered by practitioner(s).
• Demonstrates appropriate care for patients throughout the care continuum, including pediatric and elderly patients. Provides culturally sensitive care.
• Documents pertinent patient-related information in the EHR (Electronic health record) per policy.
• Cleans, prepares, and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations.
