The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for conducting patient assessments, managing HIV/STI prevention and treatment, and preparing comprehensive care plans. They also evaluate laboratory results and provide guidance to patients to reduce the risk of contracting STIs.
The candidate must be a qualified Nurse Practitioner capable of providing rapid diagnosis and immediate linkage to care for HIV/STI patients. They should possess a compassionate disposition and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic healthcare environment.

The Nurse Practitioner contributes to AHF by monitoring patients and preparing comprehensive patient care plans, at one of our Wellness Centers. With a friendly, helpful and compassionate disposition you can enhance the experience of members of our Wellness Center including patients. The Nurse Practitioner also conducts diagnostic test, evaluates lab reports, provides information on how to reduce risk of contracting an STI and interprets healthcare conditions. Providing special attention to patient chars, including treating patients in a timely manner, acting as a medical resource, and providing both counseling and guidance as needed.
The Nurse Practitioner enhances the reputation of AHF by being a team-player, treating all patients, including walk-ins, with respect and the highest level of care. Allowing our physicians to provide treatment efficiently.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is essential to supporting AHF’s mission of providing accessible, HIV/STI prevention, testing, and treatment services. The NP is responsible for conducting patient assessments, providing treatment and presumptive treatment for STIs, initiating and managing PrEP and PEP, and reviewing laboratory results for all clients, both new and returning. These responsibilities are critical to ensuring rapid diagnosis, immediate linkage to care, and prevention of HIV. Also ensuring timely clinical care, reducing wait times, and maintaining continuity of services.
