- Schedule: Full-Time; Mon-Fri; flexible schedule during business hours North Port Behavioral Health Hospital is a new 144-bed acute hospital located in North Port, FL and offers specialized care for adolescents ages 13-17, adults age 18 and older, and seniors age 55 and older who are living with mental health concerns and co-occurring substance use disorders. Our comprehensive approach is tailored to each age group, addressing the mental, physical, emotional, and social aspects of well-being to promote holistic healing. We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our skilled and patient focused team.

About the Role
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.
- Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
- Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
- Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
- One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
- Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
- Licenses/Certifications: Board certification in psychiatry Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
