The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples using various venipuncture methods and transporting them to the laboratory for diagnostic testing. They also perform routine CLIA waived tests and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
Candidates should have training from an approved phlebotomy program and basic computer literacy. Hospital phlebotomy experience and strong English communication skills are preferred.
The Phlebotomist draws blood samples to be used for diagnostic testing and transports samples to the appropriate laboratory. Provides updates to the patient areas on results of the tests. Performs appropriate CLIA waived routine tests or procedures in a clinical laboratory.
