Requires a Master's degree in Social Work and a Minnesota State LGSW license, with LICSW preferred. Candidates need two years of experience in healthcare or pediatric counseling, or a relevant graduate internship.

Work as part of team that includes Cancer and Blood Disorder physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers.
The department at Children's of Minnesota provides care for children of all ages with all types of malignancies including brain tumors, solid tumors, and leukemia; and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, and anemia. As the largest provider of services for children with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, the Cancer and Blood Disorders program focuses on providing well-coordinated knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.
We are seeking a Full Time Clinical Social Worker, for a new position serving our Adolescent and Young Adult population. The AYA role will fulfill a critical role in care of teenagers and young adults treated for cancer at Children’s Minnesota and ANW. This will include developmentally appropriate support for patients between the ages of 15 and 39, coordination of (AYA) Oncology Program services/initiatives at Children’s Minnesota and Abbott Northwestern Hospital, development of care plans and resource referral, referrals for fertility preservation, operation of support groups or brief therapy appointments, and other age-appropriate programming. This Social Worker will work with Directors at the two respective sites and serve as a "bridge" between pediatric and young adult settings, while also a part of our centralized Social Work Department.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
