The Registered Dietician Nutritionist develops and implements nutritional treatment plans for individuals in residential and clinic settings. They are responsible for diet counseling, menu approval, and ensuring compliance with health and hygiene codes.
Requires a bachelor's degree in food and nutrition and registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Candidates must have at least one year of experience and a valid driver's license.
Pay Range: $63,000 - 79,000 per year Location: Broome County, NY (Will require travelling within Broome, Tioga, Chenango, and Cortland County).

Registered Dietician Nutritionists will divide their responsibilities between residential services and the Article 16 clinic. In the clinic setting, they will function as clinical providers focused on promoting healthy lifestyle habits and supporting clients in making informed food choices based on their individual abilities.
Assess, develop, and evaluate treatment plans to remediate deficits and/or enhance skills in nutrition and self-feeding for individuals. Implement these treatment plans directly or supervise program staff in their implementation as decided by the treatment team. Provide in-service training in conjunction with appropriate staff to develop nutritional awareness and knowledge of feeding programs in general and in regard to an individual’s specialized need. Provide initial and follow-up diet counseling to individuals and IRA staff as needed. Review and approve IRA menus. Monitor participants’ mealtime regarding appropriateness of meeting individual dietary need, proper eating skill techniques, and interpersonal mealtime behaviors. Address and report any concerns or suspected situations impacting the health and safety of any individual to the Program Manager and Registered Nurse. Comply with all waivers, Part 633, and Part 624 regulations. Report any violations, deficiencies, and/or incidents to the Direct Supervisor as observed. Ensure program compliance with all pertinent health and hygiene codes related to nutritional services and food preparation and delivery (NYS Health Department Sanitary Code, Subpart 14-1, Title 10 NYCRR). Participate in life plan and team meetings to ensure appropriate nutritional and self-feeding needs are addressed. Develop weight control programs for individuals with identified needs. Participate in professional activities to maintain and enhance skills as a dietitian and QMRP. Consult with providers and the RN regarding diet orders and other nutritional concerns.
A bachelor’s degree with major studies in food and nutrition from an accredited college or university. Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Minimum of one year’s experience. Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
