Perform diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations to produce medical images of the human body. Coordinate with surgeons and radiologists while managing patient care and maintaining equipment safety and quality standards.
Requires graduation from an approved School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT registration in both Radiography and Computed Tomography. A current state medical radiographer license is required, and BLS certification is strongly preferred.
3 x 12 hour shifts 1 weekend every 4th week. Rotating holidays and call.
Job Requirements Education Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required. Experience One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred. License/Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required. Technologists who have completed clinical training and are Computed Tomography (CT) Board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the registry will be passed within 12 months of hire. New technologists who require clinical training to become Computed Tomography (CT) board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the advanced board certification is required within 12 months at the completion of clinical training. Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers. Must have analytical skills necessary to compute exposure factors and the ability to perform numerous tasks at once. Adept at working with pediatric patients. Strong knowledge in cross sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential. Physical Requirements Weight Demands Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
