Perform diagnostic sonographic and radiographic procedures under the direction of physicians to obtain high-quality imaging results. Responsibilities include positioning patients, reviewing medical charts, and adhering to radiation safety standards.
Candidates must have completed Radiography and Sonography programs and hold a current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy license. ARRT(R) and ARDMS registration in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Vascular are required or must be obtained within specified timeframes.
Ultrasound/Vascular/Diagnostic Radiography Tech Full Time, M-F 8:30am-5pm Under the direction of a radiologist, cardiologist or vascular surgeon, performs diagnostic sonographic procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment. Job Duties: Transfers and properly positions patients for examinations in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physicians’ specifications. Reviews patient chart and results of previous diagnostic studies and records patient’s personal and medical information. Selects appropriate equipment and proper technical factors on an individual patient basis according to specific orders and part of body to be examined. Uses film markers correctly and consistently and adheres to prescribed standard for Radiation Safety.
Must have completed a Radiography Program and Sonography Program. ARRT (R) Registered or eligible (must obtain ARRT registry within the Kentucky state licensing mandates). Current license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is required. Must be ARDMS registered in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Vascular or registry eligible. If registry eligible, ARDMS registration must be obtained within 6 months. Completion of initial and maintains annual Trophon certification.
