The Surgical Tech assists physicians in the CVOR by preparing and maintaining a sterile field using aseptic techniques. Responsibilities include preoperative setup, scrubbing for complex cardiothoracic and vascular cases, and managing surgical instruments and specimens.
Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training, or 5+ years of hospital scrubbing experience. BLS certification is required within 45 days of hire, and CST certification is preferred.
Schedule: 6:45am to 5:15pm, 4 shifts per week with rotating call
Job Requirements Education Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program required or Graduation/Completion of an Official U.S. Military Training Program in Surgical Technology required or 5 plus year experience scrubbing surgical procedures in a hospital setting required. Experience One to 5 + year of operating room experience preferred. NMH Surgery Main - 2 years of OR experience for weekend positions required. License/Certifications Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 45 days of hire. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to perform mathematical computations. Ability to follow all clinical direction efficiently and with precision.
