Job description

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Technician in Intake to join our team.
As the first point of contact for many of our patients, you will play a crucial role in facilitating a smooth, welcoming, and safe admission process.
This position involves performing initial intake tasks, obtaining vital signs, ensuring patient safety, and assisting with documentation.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with the admission process, including greeting new patients, assisting with paperwork, and orienting them to the facility.
Obtain and record vital signs, monitor nutritional intake, and document patient behaviors/indicators of mental/behavioral status per policy.
Conduct safety checks (15-minute rounds), monitor patient behavior, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
Provide direct, compassionate care to patients with acute mental health conditions (bipolar, schizophrenia, etc.).
Work closely with the nursing and clinical staff to communicate changes in patient status.
Schedule is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00am - 7:30pm.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in a behavioral health setting or residential treatment facility preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and crisis intervention skills; previous experience with therapeutic limit-setting.
Current BCLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain).
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
