The resident is responsible for diagnosing oral conditions and performing various dental treatments, including surgeries and restorations. They also provide patient education on oral hygiene and preventative care.
The candidate must be qualified to perform dental procedures and surgeries. As a PGY1 resident, they are expected to handle routine care and complex dental treatments.
Diagnosis: Dentists identify and diagnose oral conditions, such as tooth decay, cavities, and fractured teeth Treatment: Dentists perform procedures such as fillings, crowns, implants, extractions, and corrective surgeries Prevention: Dentists advise patients on how to prevent oral disease and promote good oral hygiene Education: Dentists provide instruction on diet choices and oral health practices Surgeries: Dentists perform surgeries and extractions Routine care: Dentists perform routine checkups, cleanings, and restorations
