The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose ocular diseases, and prescribe corrective lenses or medications. They are also responsible for establishing long-term patient relationships through education and providing pre- and postoperative care.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution. Additionally, they must have successfully passed all required optometric state boards.
