Operates extracorporeal circulation and autotransfusion equipment to support or replace a patient's circulatory and respiratory functions during medical procedures. Collaborates with physicians to select appropriate equipment and techniques for safe physiologic management.
Requires a bachelor's degree in perfusion technology or a related life science, completion of an accredited perfusion training program, and ABCP certification. Must hold a valid Texas Perfusionist license and Basic Life Support certification.
