Townsen Memorial Surgery Center, Katy is looking for a Full-Time Registered Nurse PAT to join our team!

Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Texas required.

SUMMARY

  • The Registered Nurse, PAT is responsible for coordinating the pre-admission testing (PAT) and interview/assessment process for patients scheduled to undergo an invasive or surgical procedure. Communicates with providers and/or their respective office staff as indicated regarding patient testing results to optimize the patient’s condition prior to surgery.

  • Ensures supplies and equipment needed are available and in good working order
  • Explains nursing procedures and actions taken to help reduce anxiety
  • Assesses patient’s physical and mental status
  • Documents patient care delivered, accurately in the medical record
  • Implements doctor’s orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinates patient care; provides explanations and teaching to patient/family
  • Plans for routine events and anticipates/prevents and manages/evaluates emergent situations
  • Adapts to unexpected changes
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities

  • Must be able to work independently, demonstrating sound judgment and reliability.

Education and experience

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • One (1) year of perioperative nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support certified
  • Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certified or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified or must be obtained within 60 days of hire

Requirements

Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing and a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas. Candidates must have one year of perioperative nursing experience and BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS required within 60 days of hire.
