Perform venipuncture and screening for viral hepatitis B and C for individuals experiencing homelessness at various housing sites. Responsibilities include recording activities in a data management system and supporting the phlebotomy team with paperwork and sample transport.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a specialized phlebotomy training program and CPT certification. Experience with difficult-to-draw individuals and bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred.
Phlebotomist will work on project providing viral hepatitis B and C education, screening, vaccination and treatment to individuals with experiences of or at risk for homelessness. The work will be conducted off-campus at housing sites in the San Antonio area. The hire may be asked to work an average of 2-8 hours/week. Position Key Accountabilities: Attendance viral hepatitis screening events Record all job activities in a data management system Provide venipuncture to individuals interested in hepatitis B and C testing Support phlebotomy team in paperwork, laboratory tests ordering and blood samples drop off Pick-up and drop-off supplies or samples, as needed Attend team meetings Other related duties as assigned.
