The virtual nursing staff nurse uses telemedicine technology to remotely assess, plan, and evaluate patient care. They collaborate with bedside nurses and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care and manage discharge planning.
Candidates must be a graduate of a nursing program with a valid Georgia or multistate RN license and BCLS certification. At least 2 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting is required.
The virtual nursing staff nurse uses nursing processes and telemedicine technology to remotely assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. The virtual nursing staff nurse functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The virtual nursing staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. What you will do Performs remote patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial and health history Collaborates with and supports the needs of the bedside nurse, other care team members, patient, and patient’s family Anticipates and alters the plan of care as needed, mobilizes appropriate resources, and collaborates with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care Includes the patient and family in planning and implementing care and develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum Assesses patient and family readiness to learn and individualizes the approach as necessary Works collaboratively to develop strategies to meet the learning needs of the patient and family Actively coordinates the discharge plan utilizing an interdisciplinary approach Promotes a culture of safety by identifying threats to patient safety and intervening to prevent patient harm Promotes collaboration among healthcare team members and demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict-resolution skills Attends required meetings/educational programs and completes annual competencies promptly
Education Graduate from a nursing program Required Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Work Experience 2 years direct patient care experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting Required Telemedicine and/or virtual care experience Preferred EPIC EMR experience Preferred Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required BCLS - Basic Life Support Required Business
